Band Students Travel to Chicago

The Cromwell-Wright band took their first ever trip to Chicago on Thursday April 5th, 2018. On their way to Chicago they performed in Madison, WI at the capitol building. On Friday they took part in a clinic session at Vandercook College of Music where Conductor/Professor Brian Logan worked with the students on 2 pieces. The band students then went to the Magnificent Mile in Chicago where students had the chance to explore the city and shop. They then experienced Chicago from 94 stories up at the observation deck where they also got to to TILT off the side of the building looking down at the street below! Dinner was had and enjoyed by all at the Hard Rock Cafe, which was followed by the Broadway Musical: On Your Feet!

Saturday was the final day of the tour and it was jam packed! Students explored the Lincoln Park Zoo, Navy Pier, Field Museum, Shedd Aquarium, and Millenium Park where they saw the "Bean" statue and even had a prom-posal within their group! The day ended at the Medieval Times Dinner and Tournament where they ate a 4 course meal with their hands and watched knights competing in many skills competitions. Everyone had an amazing time! Thank you to all those who supported them in their many, many fundraising efforts. Those generous contributions are a huge part of what made this trip possible. THANK YOU!
