Fall 2020-21 Planning

General announcement for schools per MDE:  As we plan for the 2020-21 school year, we are working with MDH to monitor the COVID-19 pandemic and determine how to keep our students, their families and our school staff and personnel healthy. While it is too soon to determine how students will return to school this fall, on the week of June 15 MDE is providing schools with guidance for three scenarios to help them plan for the 2020-21 school year.

  • Return all students to school buildings following the most current CDC and MDH guidelines.
  • Return students to school buildings implementing a hybrid model following the most current CDC and MDH guidelines.
  • No students return to school buildings. Implement a distance learning model.

Decisions around the fall may change as we learn more about which scenario will be in the best interest of public health, and specifically the health and safety of our school communities.
In partnership with MDH and the Governor’s Office we plan to announce a decision for which model of educational delivery will be in the best interest of the health and safety of our students, school staff and school communities for the 2020-21 school year by the week of July 27, 2020.

Summer Athletics:

ATTENTION:  ATHLETES, PARENTS AND GUARDIANS

Independent School District #95’s summer waiver period will begin on June 15th and continue through the end of July. The summer sports waiver period is a time where high school coaches can hold workouts/practices with their teams, during the summer months, to work on sport specific training.  All of these workouts are optional, but are very beneficial to development.

Coaches will be contacting their athletes with the details of if/when they will meet.  All coaches and athletes will be expected to follow the guidelines that ISD #95 has put in place based upon the CDC, MDH, MDE, MSHSL, and NFHS suggestions.
